Abstract
The source of the
text of Genesis has been a core of the contemporary theology studies. One of
the most important of these studies is the James E. Atwell’s (2000). He argues
that Genesis 1 is directly inspired by Egyptian mythology. But, considering his
arguments, the study of the typology of “Yom” shows a new paradigm that we can
conclude the existence of a new source. This study gives proves that if Egypt
constitutes an important step, the sources are far and deepest.
